20 Abducted NYSC Prospective Corps Members Regain Freedom in Imo

Twenty prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members abducted while travelling to their orientation camps in the South-East have regained their freedom.

The victims were reportedly kidnapped in Imo State while on their way to their respective NYSC orientation camps.

Their release followed a security operation involving operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies.

The prospective corps members were reportedly rescued in the Amakohia Ubi area of Owerri, Imo State, after spending several days in captivity.

Following their rescue, the victims were taken to a medical facility for medical checks and treatment.

A civilian who was also abducted alongside the prospective corps members was reportedly rescued.

The development has brought relief to the families of the victims, who had been anxiously waiting for their loved ones to regain freedom.

Security agencies are said to be continuing efforts to track down the suspected kidnappers and bring them to justice.
